Scholarships
The Edsil H Watson Scholarship

Combermere Alumni Association U.S.A. Inc.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be:
- Barbadian or of Barbadian heritage (i.e. one parent must be Barbadian, finalists will be required to provide proof of heritage)
- Graduating New York City high school senior or a currently enrolled freshman at an accredited college or university
Applicants should have:
- A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
REQUIREMENTS
The Application is in a PDF fill-in format, therefore answers can be typed directly into the form. After completing the application, print it along with the Certification page, which must be signed, and mail along with the following:
- Two (2) letters of recommendation, by persons not related to the applicant (such as teachers, counselors, etc.). These signed letters should be in sealed and submitted along with completed application.
- An official transcript from the high school, university or college presently attending.
- A letter of acceptance from an accredited college or university or if already enrolled, a copy of your university/college ID card (front and back).
- Finalists may be requested to submit an essay on a topic selected by the scholarship committee.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualified applicants will be judged on the following:
- Academic achievement
- Community involvement
- Quality of character
- Financial need (finalists)
- Interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee (finalists)
