ELIGIBILITY 

Applicants must be:

• Barbadian or of Barbadian heritage (i.e. one parent must be Barbadian, finalists will be required to provide proof of heritage)
• Graduating New York City high school senior or a currently enrolled freshman at an accredited college or university

Applicants should have:

• A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale 

REQUIREMENTS

The Application is in a PDF fill-in format, therefore answers can be typed directly into the form.  After completing the application, print it along with the Certification page, which must be signed, and mail along with the following:

1. Two (2) letters of recommendation, by persons not related to the applicant (such as teachers, counselors, etc.).  These signed letters should be in sealed and submitted along with completed application.
2. An official transcript from the high school, university or college presently attending.
3. A letter of acceptance from an accredited college or university or if already enrolled, a copy of your university/college ID card (front and back).
4. Finalists may be requested to submit an essay on a topic selected by the scholarship committee. 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualified applicants will be judged on the following:

• Academic achievement
• Community involvement
• Quality of character
• Financial need (finalists)
• Interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee (finalists)
